It isn%26#039;t that difficult to check someone%26#039;s credit history. As long as you have the right info, it CAN be done fairly easily. However, technically they must have your authorization to pull your full history.
Can anyone check your credit history, or do you have to give them authorization to?
i used to work for a mortgage company that paid a company to give them %26quot;leads%26quot; which is a call list of people interested in refinancing, etc. We were not allowed to get any person%26#039;s credit history until we got an official authorization from them over the phone. I don%26#039;t think you are supposed to check people%26#039;s credit history but, working there, I could check anyone%26#039;s credit if I knew enough info on them. If all you had was a SSN you had more than enough so keep your SSN as safe as you can.
