Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

If so, how do people who have had a bankruptcy rent an apartment?

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

I have never check anyone credit I rent to . I own 12 houses and only evicted 1 person in 8 years . I made a super long rental form and keep asking misc question . You can tell about someone in 15 mins and then I go with my gut feeling on it . If someone a dirtball , super religious , can%26#039;t find the property after calling for direction , has a beat up car , ect I stay away from them . I%26#039;ve rented to people before with bad credit and had no problem . Then again I rent nice houses and I keep them up . Most of the time I get 5 or 6 people to choose from and I rent it to who seems like the least amount of headach .

some do...some don%26#039;t

it depends on the landlord. more than often they do though

how bad is your credit?

usually...if you can prove steady income and if you have good refs, then it shouldn%26#039;t be a problem

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

no...they can just evict you if you dont pay up

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

they are more looking to see if you have ever been evicted due to non payment

Give a made up social security number.

Smart ones do. We look at Bankruptcy as well as rental history, job, credit, criminal and so on.

they are certainly allowed to, but I think you have to give them permission.

Yes they do, but some ghetto places don%26#039;t care. You%26#039;d be better off going for something ghetto and not nice

They get a co-signer or get a roommate.

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

In larger cities they do check. And they usually make you pay a first, last and damage fee upfront. That covers lost costs.

Yes to the first one and not sure on the second

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

sometimes and those with bad credit live in cardboard boxes

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

Yes, they often do, if it%26#039;s for an actual apartment complex. If you want to avoid the credit check, you may be better off trying to find a %26quot;flat for rent%26quot; or house for rent instead. A private landlord is less likely to do a credit check than something with a management company.

show %26#039;em 1st last and security and thats usually your credit

yes they do....bankruptcy cannot prevent a person from having a place to live ...but you may have to give a larger deposit to guarantee your agreement

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

bad credit = larger deposit

most landlords will require a credit check. If you are applying multiple places, you should get a copy of your report to offer so it doesn%26#039;t have to get pulled 100x%26#039;s

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

Yes they normally do, and in good apartment complexes, they will not rent to a person that has had a bankruptcy. Also in a good apartment complex, they normally as for first and last months rent and a security deposit.

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

Many of them do, yes. I don%26#039;t know how someone who has been bankrupt rents, sorry.

Nowadays they do check.

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

We had a bankruptcy and other credit issues. We were turned down by about 5 different apartment complexes before we found one -- BUT BECAUSE credit was bad -- they charged us the highest amount allowable by law for a deposit. Yes, it sucks. Unless you are rich, your life is stress all the time.

Do landlords usually check your credit history before offering a rentor a rental agreement?

yes and the only way they would is if they put down some advance rent. they check for payment history as well as other credit features. they will also sometimes report to your bureaus if you make a late payment as well. all major renting or leasing agents will check, private rentals will sometimes check and sometimes not.
