Will allowing Directv to check my credit affect my credit score?

There are different types of checks that can take place in your credit. From the most affecting to the least affecting, see below:

-furniture credit (the most damaging, NEVER DO IT)

-electronics (computers and stuff, e.g. Best Buy, Circuit City)

-car credit (usually around 40 points)

-mortgage (usually around 20 points)

-services (direcTV, etc around 3 points)

-renter%26#039;s (about 3 points)

-utilities (this doesn%26#039;t affect your credit, maybe 1-2 points)

Just concentrate in not getting furniture or electronics (they are high blow because their depreciation level is massive.)

Will allowing Directv to check my credit affect my credit score?

Anytime you allow anyone to %26quot;Check%26quot; your credit, it will be counted as an adverse authorization. If it is the only check you have had this year, and you are approved, you should not notice anything negative on your reports. Remember that if there are more then three in any one year they will make your credit go down. Even if you are approved for all three.
