Upon cancellation of a policy, it is the insurance company that notifies the lender. I have seen people fall through the cracks and got away with it. I also have seen people with a financial liability and nothing to show for it, once the vehicle was totaled. Those people in most case could not get another loan because of the lack of insurance and/or debt to income. I strongly advise that you reconsider the position you have taken. Remember upon signing the loan, you agreed to the terms and conditions of that loan. If you are not willing to honor this agreement and you have the vehicle reposed, why would any lender want to do buss. with you. Good Luck

I applied for a chase credit card. it came with a blank check why?

i have a 300 line of credit and cash access line of 60 bucks.

on top of the check it says %26quot;use the check attached below to access your available credit%26quot; what? i use the check not the card?

I applied for a chase credit card. it came with a blank check why?

They want you to be indebted to them for life so they can make money off the interest charges and fees on your account. Credit cards should only be used for emergency situations.( NO,BLOWING ALL YOUR FUNDS to go out and get a PS3 or WI doesn%26#039;t qualify as an emergency )

I applied for a chase credit card. it came with a blank check why?

You can write a check and it will come out of your credit card. Usually with a nice, hefty fee attatched. It%26#039;ll probably be cheaper just to use the card straight. Cash Advances also come at a higher APR (and that %26#039;check%26#039; is really a cash advance.)

Repeat after me:

Credit card companies are not my friend.

Credit card companies are not my friend.

Credit card companies are not my friend.

Anytime it seems like they%26#039;re doing you a favor -- particularly if they -tell- you they%26#039;re doing you a favor -- and you haven%26#039;t asked for one -- look for the hidden fees.

I applied for a chase credit card. it came with a blank check why?

they want you to use the check, it count as a cash withdrawl against the credit card. Higher int rate for payback.

I applied for a chase credit card. it came with a blank check why?

Warning..warning...warning.. Will Robinson!

My advice.... tear it off and burn it!!

It usually called Super Checks.

The amount you write and spend using this checks will come out from your credit card limits but with hefty percentage rate. It is similar to getting cash out of your credit cards. Check your cash out rate with Chase and you%26#039;ll see you%26#039;ll be paying at least 20%-30% than your regular credit card charges.

It%26#039;s a ploy and lure you to cash out and spend with hefty rate.

I applied for a chase credit card. it came with a blank check why?

The check is to transfer money to this credit card

How can you check your credit score without typing in a credit card number?

I went on www.freecreditreport.com and they require you type in a valid credit card number. Is there ever a company that allows you to see your credit report without a need to type in a credit card?

How can you check your credit score without typing in a credit card number?

You can get a free report annually from www.annualcreditreport.com This is a report only. You will need to pay for a credit score. The only true credit scores which mortgage companies and credit card companies use are pulled from www.myfico.com Other scores sold on the agency%26#039;s websites are just estimated scores called fako%26#039;s.

How to run a credit /backgound check on someone in New York?

The same way you do in any other State, you get all of their personal information, enter it into the proper computer program and hit enter.

How to run a credit /backgound check on someone in New York?

How important is your credit history in a background check?

I%26#039;ve got a messed up credit history but I%26#039;m otherwise a tip top person, no bad criminal record or anything. My future employer is performing a background check on me and I%26#039;d like to get some answers in regards to have important of a factor do you think the credit history is when determining an otherwise perfect person for the job?

How important is your credit history in a background check?

Its quite important

How important is your credit history in a background check?

Congrats on the new job. Basically, a background check deals with law enforcement agencies. As long as you have no convictions you get the job.

Credit reports and background checks are not related in any way. Unless your employer specifically said that they are pulling your credit report there are no worries for you.

Even if he is pulling your credit report then you would probably have to have a bankruptcy to raise any eyebrows.

Just act very confident and you%26#039;ll probably get the job.

How important is your credit history in a background check?

If you are going into a financial position, then the credit report may be very important to the employer as it shows how responsible you may be. If most of the %26quot;messed up%26quot; history is older, I wouldn%26#039;t worry too much.. we all make mistakes when we%26#039;re %26quot;young and stupid%26quot; If the employer questions you on it, be honest....whether you ran upon hard times, you were just young, whatever the reason, if the employer sees you take responsibility now for then, it will definately give you more points...good luck!!!

How important is your credit history in a background check?

Hi,

Well. you call find all kinds of court, criminal, background at http://www.governmentrecords.co.nr/ , its really got a big database

Since when do potential employers check your credit?....?

I have been turned down for too many jobs because I have poor credit. When did this become the norm? Is is just Colorado or all over? I can%26#039;t understand why credit is now a factor. Should it really matter that I have poor credit for a job at Walmart, or a call center? I am highly experienced and qualify for all positions I apply for, and pass testing with flying colors if required. Its really depressing.

After I was turned down for the first 10 jobs or so because of %26quot;a negative consumer report%26quot;, I found out that the employer who denies you the job because of this reason is required to provide you a copy of the consumer report they used. I have not been successful in obtaining any of these from any of the jobs I applied for.

Does anyone have input on this issue or experienced similar problems? I know cleaning up my credit would help. But how can I do that if I don%26#039;t have the income because I can%26#039;t get a job because of my poor credit?

Since when do potential employers check your credit?....?

Credit checks for potential candidates is nothing new. It%26#039;s simply taken a while for it to %26quot;catch on%26quot; and not every employer requires credit checks.

The reasoning behind it, simplified, of course, is that anyone with credit issues may pose problems in the workplace. Examples: debt collectors may call you at work, financial problems (worries) can lead some employees to be distracted while at work, in a senstive position (one that deals directly with cash and/or information to people%26#039;s personal information) an employee may be %26quot;tempted%26quot; so the employer feels a need to minimize the risk.

It doesn%26#039;t immediately help you in your situation, but don%26#039;t take it personally if you are. Employers are trying to protect themselves and their customers. Unfortunately, some employers have learned the hard way because of the perverbial %26quot;few bad apples.%26quot;

As for employers being required to provide you with a copy of your credit report(s), it may be true now or in Colorado, but where I live, employers never had to supply you with that information--much like creditors don%26#039;t supply you with a copy of your credit report(s) if you denied a loan or even a rented apartment. Credit is the responsibility of the individual.

I would first recommend that you obtain your credit reports from the three major reporting bureaus: Experian, TransUnion and ...sorry, drawing a blank on the third. Understand that even if you had excellent credit, not all reporting is accurate, so it%26#039;s adviseable for all of us to review our credit reports. (Not everyone has to report to all of the credit bureaus, either, to make it even more difficult on the consumer!)

As for not being able to clean up your credit without having a job to begin the process is the same as graduates who can%26#039;t get a job because they don%26#039;t have experience but need experience to get a job! There is no pat answer to that question. It%26#039;s something we just must muddle through...and in the case of poor credit, you simply must use this as a learning experience--but try to keep up your hopes and your spirits. Easier said than done, I know, but somehow find a way.

Wouldn%26#039;t it be a hoot if you applied for a job (and got) at a debt counseling agency, claiming that because of your personal experience you are committed to learn and rise above--and help others do the same?

Best of luck. Wish I could help.

Since when do potential employers check your credit?....?

wow... that sucks! ive never heard of that happening before it could just be colorado but i have no idea i live in florida and credit checks arent a norm in the job hunting world.

Since when do potential employers check your credit?....?

unfortunately companies feel that if ur responsible to pay ur bills on time then that makes u a responsible person to work for them..good luck

Since when do potential employers check your credit?....?

It is common practice to check the credit report. However, they don%26#039;t give a hoot about your FICO score. They are looking at your ethics. Did you steal from a company (refuse to repay money spend/borrowed? That is the sort of thing they are looking at. If you are willing to rip off other businesses you are certainly ethically capable of ripping of an employeer.

Check your credit report, you should see the problem. Look at it unbiased, as if you would looking for docentation if a person was trustworthy or not.

Since when do potential employers check your credit?....?

Normally they only check for jobs that require trust like handling money or bookkeeping. I think it is more common now and will get even more common in the future. Some might let you explain what happened to cause you to get into debt and not pay what you owed on time. Generally it is a sign you aren%26#039;t careful with money or may be in trouble enough to steal someday. Most people old enough to hire people have been hurt by dead beat tenants, customers or clients and resent them as well as not respect people who don%26#039;t run their own life well.

Why do potential employers check your credit report?

I applied for a really nifty data entry position through an agency that hires directly to this company. I did everything awesomely. I passed the test they make you take, and have the background.

But the thing that may potential stop me from getting this job is my (atleast what I think is) bad credit. I haven%26#039;t been able to keep up with my payments, mainly because I don%26#039;t have a job. So without a job, I can%26#039;t pay said bills that show up on a credit report. I am 2 months due on my car, and some of my credit cards are over their limit.

So my question is do they really care about debts or are they looking more for something like a deadbeat dad who hasn%26#039;t been paying child support?

This is a data entry job that pays $10 an hour, not a corporate expense account manager who gets his own company credit card or something like that. I really need to take care of my bills, and want to with this job. I just hope this doesn%26#039;t hold me from getting it.

Thanks!

Why do potential employers check your credit report?

They don%26#039;t want to employ a deadbeat. They don%26#039;t want your creditors calling and they don%26#039;t want to have to garnish your salary. Also, people who need money to pay their bills might be tempted to steal.

Why do potential employers check your credit report?

Credit checks are part of the overall background check that many employers use when hiring new people.

A credit check is routine if your new job involves direct contact

with cash, credit, or merchandise , if your going to be %26quot;bonded%26quot;,

or if the position requires some type of certification or license.

In addition, they want to be sure that there is no initial conflict

of interest between you and them. That means, that you

don%26#039;t owe them anything or are involved in some legal action

with them.

Many companies believe that if you hire people with known problems, like drugs, health issues, criminal records, debt..etc.,

that you are in fact hiring %26quot;problem%26quot; people.

Generally speaking, it is not an issue unless there are

discrepancies between your job application and resume that

you cannot account for.

Why do potential employers check your credit report?

They want to view your character and see what kind of a person you are. A dead beat...a responsible person and so on. I don%26#039;t think they should but unfortunally they do.

I want to check my credit score but all the web sites want my credit card info.?

You can get a free annual credit report, but it is just a report and doesn%26#039;t include your FICO Score, this is something that you have to pay for.

The idea behind the free credit report is so that you can check for instances of identity theft -- it is not offered to give you the FICO score, which is what a lot of people want.

I want to check my credit score but all the web sites want my credit card info.?

The only way is to pay

How do you check your credit history??

it seems i have a bad credit rating, but im trying to get a loan / car finance because last week i had to have my car scrapped and i start a new job on thursday in the middle of nowhere! how do i find out what my credit score looks like, and if there is any chance of me getting rejected again and again? and does looking at quotes go on your credit rating? (e.g looking on money supermarket etc)

How do you check your credit history??

One time every year you can get a copy of your credit report from 3 reporting agencies. You should start by getting the reports to see what negative items there are. You generally have to pay to get your credit score, but some credit cards offer it free to their customers.

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/i...

How do you check your credit history??

go to www.freeannualcreditreport.com and find out.

How do you check your credit history??

Go to www.annualcreditreport.com

You can see your reports for free, but it costs money for the score. And teh score is what will tell you if you can get a loan or not-- over 700 is excellent, over 600 and you%26#039;re doing okay, below and its %26quot;poor%26quot; so you%26#039;ll pay high interest rates or can%26#039;t get the loan.

Stop applying until you figure out what your score/report looks like, and know what you%26#039;re looking at before you walk into the dealership.

Will a skating rink accept credit/debit/check cards?

I%26#039;m weird. and nervous when it comes to this. I just recently started using my card in fast-food drive-thrus.

Ever since I went to get Chinese food at the mall and they didn%26#039;t accept my card, I got paranoid!

so anyways. I%26#039;m bout to go to a skating rink tonight with my friends, and I don%26#039;t feel like stopping by the ATM. Soo uh.. will they most likely accept cards? I tried looking online, but they don%26#039;t have a website.

I%26#039;M JUST BEING PRECAUTIOUS. I don%26#039;t wanna be turned down again like the chinese food place.....

Will a skating rink accept credit/debit/check cards?

Call them. Some places do and some do not. All depends on the owner and their preference. The movie theater where I live doesn%26#039;t accept them but our small, skating rink does so that goes to show you theres no telling anymore.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

I know people charge gifts all the time, it just seems odd that someone would give a gift like this. I received this and feel very uncomfortable about depositing it.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

Nothing wrong with that. If they feel good giving it to you, why worry? Go ahead and deposit it.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

whats wrong with disposing it. Just do it.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

Hell yes I would cash it, Money is money, and it is a gift so you really should use it. It is a gift, so there is no reason to feel uncomfortable.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

I feel your pain..but I am willing to suffer for you..just email me and I will send the address for you send it...It%26#039;ll tear me apart..but I am just too damn nice sometimes.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

then send it on to me....

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

If it was given as a gift, then I%26#039;m sure the intention was for you to cash it. I can see how you%26#039;d feel uncomfortable, but perhaps this was the most convenient way of gifting the money to you? I would treat it like any other gift. Cash it and say thank you. Hope that helps!

P.S I%26#039;ve been given a cheque before as a gift, the person who gave it to me didn%26#039;t get out a lot to access cash, and it was just easier for her.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

Ill glady take it off your hands j/k

They probably didnt know what to get you. So they gave you a card check so you can use it on something that you want.

Cash it quick before they change their mind :]

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

It is perhaps the lamest gift I have ever heard of. Grocery stores won%26#039;t even accept them.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

This check was a gift. You should treat it as such. To refuse it (by not cashing it) would be ungrateful and ill-mannered.

If someone gave you a credit card check as a gift, would you accept it by cashing it?

without a second glance

Other than paying for a credit report/check {they all seem to charge, even the FREE ones},?

what%26#039;s the best way to make sure someone isn%26#039;t using my identity ( in usa), my wallet was stolen with lots of personal info, ss# and more???

Thanks for any real advice

Other than paying for a credit report/check {they all seem to charge, even the FREE ones},?

You are right, the %26quot;free%26quot; sites require you to sign up for a monthly monitoring service (which isn%26#039;t a bad idea if your ss# and more are floating around, you may want to subscribe to a monthly monitoring service for 6 months or a year)

However, the government requires all three major credit reporting agencies to give you a free annual credit report. You can collect this credit report at the official site: www.annualcreditreport.com

You can obtain all three credit reports at once, or obtain them a few months apart if you want. Each credit agency maintains separate records, so they do not always match. Some credit issuers only report their info to two agencies.

I hope you found this useful, I assume that you reported all your credit/debit cards stolen already?

Other than paying for a credit report/check {they all seem to charge, even the FREE ones},?

the credit reports say free but it cost 1.00 you just cancle before your 30 days free trail is up

Other than paying for a credit report/check {they all seem to charge, even the FREE ones},?

go to annualcreditreport.com There is another site called freecreditreport.com and it isn%26#039;t free, but you can get all 3 at the first site I gave you, or you can check 1 every 4 months or whatever, but only time per year per agency is free.

Other than paying for a credit report/check {they all seem to charge, even the FREE ones},?

there are great explanations on myfico.com

one is to pull a credit report from one agency every four months for free from annualcreditreport.com If there is something odd with your account, ie identity theft, checking one bureau at a time should be enough.

You can also subscribe to a myfico.com service that will monitor your credit but for a fee.

I%26#039;m following the first suggestion and feel pretty secure with that.

Other than paying for a credit report/check {they all seem to charge, even the FREE ones},?

If you think that your information can be used to open up new credit you first need to place a Fraud Alert on your Credit Reports. You can get an initial fraud alert that will remain on your report for 90 days. During this time any time someone requests new credit with your SSN the creditors have to go through extra steps to prove that it is actually you. The link below will give you the information on how to do this.

Once you do that you should also go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com and pull your credit reports. You are allowed 1 free report from each of the 3 main ones per year. If there is anything on there that is not yours you need to dispute it and have it taken care of.

Other than paying for a credit report/check {they all seem to charge, even the FREE ones},?

If your wallet was lost or stolen you can put a fraud alert on your credit bureau information and they will send you a free credit report once a year when you ask for it. You need to flag your accounts so no new credit is opened in your name without your knowledge.

I want to check my credit online, will my credit score now be lower after my inquiry?

I want to go to AnnualCreditReport.com to look up my credit and score, but I%26#039;m afraid that my FICO score will be lower since I made an inquiry, or does this only apply to lenders that make inquiries?

I want to check my credit online, will my credit score now be lower after my inquiry?

Personal inquiries of your credit report have absolutely NO IMPACT on your FICO score when done through the annualcreditreport.com website.

I want to check my credit online, will my credit score now be lower after my inquiry?

It doesn%26#039;t go down if you%26#039;re pulling it YOURSELF. This is considered a %26quot;soft inquiry%26quot;.

I want to check my credit online, will my credit score now be lower after my inquiry?

No it only lower after credit application

I want to check my credit online, will my credit score now be lower after my inquiry?

No, your score will not be affected if you run your own credit. This site has many reports that will most likely answer most of your questions -- www.paynotaxesforlife.com

I want to check my credit online, will my credit score now be lower after my inquiry?

It will not lower your score. And it only applies to lenders, and it takes more than 1 to lower your score.

Loan company will not accept third-party checks for payoff. Why can't I use a credit card check

They say they will not accept cash or 3rd party checks. Looks like they try to delay full payoff. Yet this would seem to violate interstate commerce law.

Loan company will not accept third-party checks for payoff. Why can%26#039;t I use a credit card check to pay?

If you can pay back the credit card, after you deposit that other check to have the funds to pay it back, and can do it right away, then use the cash advance check! Just don%26#039;t borrow anything you can%26#039;t pay back or you%26#039;ll be in a heap of trouble!

Loan company will not accept third-party checks for payoff. Why can%26#039;t I use a credit card check to pay?

If you have a checking account, make a cash advance from your credit card into the checking account, and send the loan company a check.

Loan company will not accept third-party checks for payoff. Why can%26#039;t I use a credit card check to pay?

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

All of the ligitimate sources I have looked at have a sign up scam running. You must sign up for credit protection plans or the like before you can get your free score. You must give them your credit card number for your free trial that by the way is difficult to get %26quot;unsubscribed%26quot; to. I thought the law said you could get a free credit score yearly. Where do I do this?

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

You can only get your credit report for free, not your score.

Under the FACT Act, you%26#039;re allowed one free report per bureau, once every 12 months.

To get your free reports, go to AnnualCreditReport.com. ACR is the only government approved website to receive your free reports; no credit card or registration for credit monitoring services required.

Once you receive your free report, you can order your score on the website for a small fee.

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

you can use those programs pretty easily. its really not a scam. you give them the card number, but you get your score. i usually call right afterward and cancel, you still get your score and report for free. its not difficult to unsubscribe, just call and say i want to cancel, and they cancel you. like i said, i called right after i got the score, and its no hassle. truecredit is a good site and myfico.com. and you cant get a free credit score yearly, you get a free credit report yearly. the score is extra.

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

AnnualCreditReport.com is the official site to help consumers to obtain their free credit report.

I took this straight from their site...no scam, good luck!!

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

www.annualcreditreport.com I believe this is the one that I use. I get only one report from the three chooses. Then I get another one about four months later to check to see if things really did get cleaned up. Good luck to you.

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

You can ESTIMATE your credit score for free at http://www.myfico.com/FICOCreditScoreEst...

You can get your credit REPORT for free at www.annualcreditreport.com, but it won%26#039;t give you your credit score for free.

The only way I know of to get a credit score for free is to shop for a mortgage and ask your mortgage broker. However, the broker has to pay for it, so that%26#039;s kindof scummy.

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

I%26#039;ve used www (dot) freecreditreport (dot) com. You can pull your credit report and score up, check it out, and cancel your membership the same day.

I%26#039;ve done it three times through this website for myself, and for friends and family as well. Just call them when you%26#039;ve got the info you need, and you%26#039;ll never be charged.

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

Be careful about subscribing to get a free credit report. This can put an inquiry on your credit report that can stay for several years and can cost you points on your FICO. The only Legitimate way to get credit scores is though the credit bureaus themselves.

Where exactly can you check your credit score for FREE?

It%26#039;s hardly a scam. Information isn%26#039;t FREE.

Car buying with bad credit, trade in and a check?

I want to trade in a 98 SUV for a used car. I have pretty aweful credit, an alright trade in and a check for $2000.00. I want almost no payments, and low financing. The car I%26#039;m looking at costs about $11,000. What should I say to the dealer in order to get the best price even though I hope not to use their financing? How will they budge?

Car buying with bad credit, trade in and a check?

Right up front your trade in is almost worthless. Everyone is getting rid of their SUV%26#039;s and they can%26#039;t move them. I%26#039;m guessing you are going to need more then what you have to get the car you want. Your going to pay outrageous interest too.

Car buying with bad credit, trade in and a check?

Banks will only give you a loan on a 99 and up. If you don%26#039;t believe it call your bank

Car buying with bad credit, trade in and a check?

Do not tell them you have anything for a down payment...get them to go as low as they can on the price and then say %26quot;Well I have a trade in%26quot; Get them to lower it more..then admit you have a check for down payment...that way they have to lower the price a lot more, then if you tell them how much money you are going to put down up front

Car buying with bad credit, trade in and a check?

You have to treat this as separate transactions. Too many people get confused at dealerships by confusing purchasing, with a trade in and financing. Oftentimes dealers will lower purchase price but raise the rate. They can give you a lot for your trade and then raise the price. The hope is that you get lost of the details. So forget about it. Treat these are three separate processes.

First, sell you car privately. You will get the most money in the end. Take that money and go into the dealer with a bigger check. Keep it simple.

Shop for financing on your own. Get approved for a loan independent of the dealer. Nothing says you have to use their banks. Try a local credit union or a bank that you do business with. Once you have that, you can always see if the dealer can do better. Sometimes they can. Sometimes they can%26#039;t.

Finally, negotiate your best price on the new car. Now there are no complicating factors. No trade to worry about and no financing. Try the end of the month when sales quotas are due.

I don%26#039;t think your going to walk away without payments. Depending on what your trade is worth, you are going to have to fiance many thousands of dollars. Be prepared for a high interest rate due to your bad credit.

Car buying with bad credit, trade in and a check?

well, you can go to www.kbb.com and get your car appraised for free, then if you have awfull credit, you are not going to get low financing, $2,000 is a good down payment for a car, when you have bad credit, there are some lenders that will finance anyone with $2,000.00 as long as they can afford to pay it with proof of income, a full time job with at least 3 month there and 3 months at the same residence. you can go to www.sunrisechevy.com the midlothian store. and I can do an application and get an approval for you as long as you are not in Michigan. If you do make it attn Gabriel

Thanks !!

as a responce to the first anwer, we can finance 1996 and above, to the other person who answered%26quot;hold back all your information%26quot; it is wrong, because we need to know everything before you call the deal in to the bank to get financing if your credit is really bad. because if they deny you right away some banks will not rehash (relook the deal for a counteroffer)

be truthfull, but maby hold back some money, say you have $1,000.00 down, see what they say. Then to help with your payment after the deal is done, put the other $1,000.00 down if it is nessesary or if it helps you.

Now for selling your car, you will always get more money on the street, no matter what, but the problem is the had times, not a lot of people are walking around with big buck in their pockets.

Car buying with bad credit, trade in and a check?

well, every thimg said so far sounds pretty good with the exception of your credit.you have no negotiating powers. special finance is an option, but you are going to have payments.you ruined your credit, and now you want to screw the dealer out of a profit. used cars are extremly expensive rigt now,and you will get your best deal on a new car. also, these folks giving advice about how to jack a dealer around? they came to do buisness this way,in part,to make a profit.its not a non-profit center.especially on a customer they cant make money on rate. they can only profit on used, and you dont want paayments. smell reality. if we didnt know all the tricks and lies that customers use daily, you could do that. dude, you need to find a tote the note lot.

I use three different programs to check my credit scores, why are all three scores different?

Citi Credit Monitoring Services, True Credit, and one of my credit cards all three have different scores. It is not different scores from different credit bureaus. My Credit bureau scores are also different for all three programs I use.

I use three different programs to check my credit scores, why are all three scores different?

Each credit bureau houses its own version of the basic FICO algorithm. On top of that, each bureau has access to slightly different sets of data and compiles it in a slightly different way.

Think of this - on any given day, the snapshot of your credit file will vary - based on usage and payments. This means that your Utilization (balance/limit) will fluctuate - and it is a key driver of your score - so your score will be different if you look at it on different days.

The credit bureaus have reports form all of your lenders - each cut on a date that is issuer-specific. So they will always have slightly different data - and hence slightly different scores.

Any lender will look at an average or throw out an outlier - so not to worry too much if one is out of whack.

I use three different programs to check my credit scores, why are all three scores different?

How else would they compete if all of them showed the same number?

I use three different programs to check my credit scores, why are all three scores different?

Hi!

Very simple: The two credit monitoring services may use either different credit reports *or* may use different metrics to determine the score.

The same goes for your credit card..it may use one (or more) credit reports and different scoring metrics as well to come up with a number.

Lenders do the very same thing..they use their own metrics and may use one or more credit reports to determine your interest rates and if they say %26quot;yes%26quot; or %26quot;no%26quot;.

I use three different programs to check my credit scores, why are all three scores different?

There are several types of credit reports that can be pulled, regular, auto enhanced and super enhanced. Add this to the fact that all three bureaus have different systems to come up with scores and it%26#039;s no wonder you are getting several scores.

I use three different programs to check my credit scores, why are all three scores different?

Credit scores are not static and change consistently based upon timely payments, age of accounts, new creditor inquiries, and new accounts. Your score could be 720 today and 695 tomorrow if you went out and started applying for car loans for example. Each score is an algorithm developed exclusively for each issuer of credit or the credit bureaus, which is why there are slight variations.

I use three different programs to check my credit scores, why are all three scores different?

The primary source of information that credit card companies as well as other lenders use to determine whether you qualify for credit is the credit report.

This report is generated by three different bureaus each with three different methods for determining the score. The three bureaus don%26#039;t all have the exact same information on you and therefore the scores will differ. This makes it necessary to check all three on an annual basis to stay up to date on credit score.

With that being said the different scores you received from the different programs are a result of a few different factors. As before the amount of information that the different programs have about you will affect the score. The next determing factor the the scoring model that is used to calculate your credit score. Finally the date the calculation was made is another determining factor.

I would recommend getting your credit scores from the three bureaus as well. It never hurts to have the information straight from the source.

I know they check your credit when you move in, but does paying rent at an apartment go on your cred

everytime you pay your rent, does it get documented in the credit bureaus?

I know they check your credit when you move in, but does paying rent at an apartment go on your credit?

I wish it did, but unfortunately, no. However, if you don%26#039;t pay your rent and get evicted, that goes as an Unlawful Detainer under Public Records.

I know they check your credit when you move in, but does paying rent at an apartment go on your credit?

no, it doesn%26#039;t

I know they check your credit when you move in, but does paying rent at an apartment go on your credit?

No, it doesn%26#039;t.

But it might appear on your credit report if you skip out on the mortgage.

I know they check your credit when you move in, but does paying rent at an apartment go on your credit?

No it doesn%26#039;t, but if you do not pay it and are evicted; or the landlord gets a judgment against you for back rent and damages, that will go on your credit report.

I know they check your credit when you move in, but does paying rent at an apartment go on your credit?

Rent almost never gets reported to Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. However, if you default on a rent payment, odds are good it will get reported to one of the myriad of Specialty Credit Reporting Agencies, as well as perhaps one or more of the Big Three.

Some car leasing outfits also do not report good payment history.

I want to check my credit score but I don't want to spend ANY money is there a website I can do

I DONT HAVE A CREDIT CARD AT ALL AND I DONT WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON MY CREDIT SCORE PLEASE HELP!

I want to check my credit score but I don%26#039;t want to spend ANY money is there a website I can do that with?

Yes, there is a site that will allow you to check your FICO credit score for one time in a lifetime, free. Go to www.eloan.com -- On the right side of the page, go to Tools %26amp; Resources. In the drop down box right below that, select Free Credit Score. They only give it to you for free one time, but if you%26#039;re just curious about where you stand, go for it.

freecreditreport.com

I want to check my credit score but I don%26#039;t want to spend ANY money is there a website I can do that with?

Nope, you%26#039;ll always have to pay for your credit score. You can get a free copy of your credit report at annualcreditreport.com, but it won%26#039;t have the numeric score.

I want to check my credit score but I don%26#039;t want to spend ANY money is there a website I can do that with?

There are several sites but the best is

www.annualcreditreport.com

AnnualCreditReport.com is a centralized service for consumers to request free annual credit reports. It was created by the three nationwide consumer credit reporting companies - Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

Alternatively, you can simply write each of the major credit reporting agencies requesting a free copy to %26quot;verify that the data is correct.%26quot;

If you%26#039;re friends with a banker, she could probably help you apply for a loan, which would be free, and as part of that process, she could find out what your credit score is. You wouldn%26#039;t have to actually take out the loan if you don%26#039;t want to. Other than that, you%26#039;d have to pay for your credit score, which is available at:

Equifax - www.equifax.com

Experian - www.experian.com

TransUnion - www.transunion.com

Finally, if you just want a credit report, you can get one free report per year from www.annualcreditreport.com. Many other places that offer free credit reports are scams, so avoid them.

When should I check my credit score again after disputing alot on report?

i have been working on c redit report for about 2 months now.. I have raised my score alot ... I need to know what time of the month should I check my score again.. I need to have my score higher about 10 points. so I did some more disputing and paying for things on time agian.. so when should I check score? HELP

When should I check my credit score again after disputing alot on report?

Your dispute may take 30-45 days to be completed. You can call the credit reporting agency to see when the results are final, or wait until you receive the results of all of the disputes. That way you are not paying for an extra credit score before everything is complete.

When should I check my credit score again after disputing alot on report?

I would think that the time you disputed impacts when you should check your score again. It is my understanding that the creditor has 30 days to confirm the disuputed information.

So I would check again in about 35 days (not sure if it is 30 business days or not but if so add the appropriate number of days for same)

and check after that.

congrats for rasing your score

be sure to update us regarding what tactics have been sucessful!

Can I check my credit score without having to pay for it?

all the sites i have investigated require you to purchase something. why do i have to pay to see MY credit score? can i see it for free?

Can I check my credit score without having to pay for it?

Your three credit REPORTS you can get free once a year at the site below. Your credit SCORE will cost you, usually around $10. I believe there is an option to pay for your score when you get your free report.

BTW - if you are getting your free reports at the free site from the three agencies, get them one at a time, every four months. That way, you can keep close tabs on your report without having to pay for a %26quot;credit watch%26quot; subscription.

Can I check my credit score without having to pay for it?

Yes-write to them or call them. The law requires they give you a free copy once a year upon your request.

Can I check my credit score without having to pay for it?

IT DEPENDS IN WHAT STATE YOU LIVE. IN CALIFORNIA IT%26#039;S FREE

Can I check my credit score without having to pay for it?

No the free reports do not give the key number FICO score!

Go to MY FICO and buy the combine report.

This will give you a clear picture of what biz see about you, you can work to improve/correct and be able nego from the position of knowledge.

Example car sales may try to pass a higher interest rate then you deserve!

Can I check my credit score without having to pay for it?

You can see it for free THREE times a year!

Law requires the credit-rating agencies let you know your score once a year for free if you ask, so since there are three agencies (Experian, Transunion %26amp; Equifax) you can ask once every four months for no charge.

Can I check my credit score without having to pay for it?

Here are the facts!

You can receive all three of your credit files free once every 12 months by law(passed in 2004) from annualcreditreport.com

As far as credit scores they unfortunately are not free. The only credit score that lenders use is a FICO score. You can get all three at www.myfico.com/12 and also the top four reasons from all 3 of the credit bureaus that your credit score isn%26#039;t higher for $44.85. Or you can get individual FICO scores for $14.95 from Equifax and TransUnion at www.equifax.com and www.transunioncs.com respectively. Experian sells their own score which is worthless.

Good Luck

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can the

see if I have payday advance (such as Money Mart, etc...) Can the loaning company see on my credit report or any report that I have a payday advance for my next check?

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

yes they see that

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

better question...if you have that why would you be applying for yet more credit you cant pay?

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

yep they can see that and that looks terrible on a credit report

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

Payday loans don%26#039;t report on your credit report unless you default on the loan and it gets sent to collections.

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

Yes they can see that. Depending on the company as long as that loan is in good standing it should not matter. Another company may see it as a good reason not to give you credit being that you are obviously spending beyond your means as it is.

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

If Money Mart did a credit check on you, then more than likely the loan company will see that you went to Money Mart. If they did not, more than likely they have your social sec. #, which may have gave that information to the credit bureau.

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

I dont think so. The payday loan place really goes off that you have a current job and you have an active checking or savings account...You can also view your credit report for free from all these differnt websites....What you see there is what they will see....

I want to get a loan from a loan company, I know they can check to see my credit history but can they also?

if that payday company makes regular reports to credit collecting agencies then the answer is yes

Can you stop payment on a credit card check?

yes, all you would need to do is call the bank of the credit card company and for usually about a $35 fee. If the person buying the truck from you is the one writting the check and you%26#039;re concerned they might stop payment on the check they can take the check to their own bank write the check to themselves and give you the cash. It would still be at the same APR %26amp; fees would all be the same.

Can you stop payment on a credit card check?

yes you can

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

Unless you live in California, yes, an insurance credit check WILL happen, unless you%26#039;re under 21 (in which case you basically get the worst rates anyway).

Good Luck.

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

Yes, they do. And they are known to rate people and even deny insurance for bad credit.

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

Oh yeah. They found a correlation between bad credit and and higher insurance claims, They will use that to give you a higher premium.

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

only some companies like safeco

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

They won%26#039;t touch it, but they will check it. It gives them one more excuse to jack up your rates.

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

They don%26#039;t %26quot;check%26quot; your credit, see your credit report or affect your credit score at all. They do get a %26quot;score%26quot; from either various sources and use that as 1 of the factors in determining your car insurance rates.

Go ahead and shop for car insurance - it will not hurt you.

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

In all states except California, credit scoring is used in rate determination. It won%26#039;t affect your score, it%26#039;s a %26quot;soft hit%26quot;. If you want a quote with no credit scoring, Leader Infinity will do that for you, but you get the absolutely highest rates - as if you have the worst credit.

Do car insurance companies check your credit?

Almost all of them will. They do what is known as a marketing hit though, so it won%26#039;t affect your credit score, it%26#039;s only used in rating you to determine your premium amount. How to check my credit balance in my mobile phone?

i usually check the balance by calling the service provider. it%26#039;s there other way to do so???

How to check my credit balance in my mobile phone?

there would be some codes for that..you should ask your service provider for that...

How to check my credit balance in my mobile phone?

How to check my credit balance in my mobile phone?

Did you know that when you check your credit score it is different than what lender wouldget?

there are different catagories for each credit score

one for credit cards one for mortgage and one for auto

what the credit report companys dont tell you is that your credit score that you see is very different than what lenders see.

Did you know that when you check your credit score it is different than what lender wouldget?

There is not supposed to be any difference. I just went through this. I found out something interesting. My score was 812.. which is high. I had NO outstanding debts NOW or before so I asked why not higher. They informed me that I had one credit card (which I do) and I owed $3,000 plus dollors on it. I explained that I get the bill each month and I have so many days too pay it off and I had not yet gotten my bill. They informed me that the best way to get an even higher bill is to pay off the credit card bill and not use it for a while during which time the credit report is being gotten... by so doing, I would show nothing besing owed on the credit report so it would have been even higher... THIS IS ASSUMING that you have not had any %26quot;bad%26quot; reports from your past.

Did you know that when you check your credit score it is different than what lender wouldget?

there is a difference in scores. They use alot of different scoring models, so it would depend on the scoring model you got, and the one they used. Auto loans typically use auto scores, same as every other lender in America. So, it can vary, and I have seen them vary, a couple of times, by almost 100 points !

Did you know that when you check your credit score it is different than what lender wouldget?

I would ask you, %26quot;How did you find out?%26quot;

If U work in a Credit Company, Hey! I want to know more.

Make sure that info. is accurate.

If others say the same as U; Here, Then I%26#039;ll be convinced.

Other testimonies as yours will strengthen your comment.

I would really like to know more on this, Because I have debts.

I applied last week for a loan, and they told me %26quot;Not approved%26quot;

The other day I applied for an account with Sprint, and they told me that I did approve.

I don%26#039;t know what to believe!

Other answers to your comment might help me understand how this Credit issue goes.

Did you know that when you check your credit score it is different than what lender wouldget?

It shouldnt be, but they pull more than one bureau. Lenders often go with the middle score.

Did you know that when you check your credit score it is different than what lender wouldget?

Let%26#039;s clear up this credit scoring issue.

There is one company the writes the programs for credit scoring, Fair Isaac Company, hence the acronym FICO. It is the ONLY credit score lenders use. Any other score that you see for sale on the web is a %26quot;Fake%26quot; score and may or may not be the same as your FICO score.

Some Car dealers use what they call an %26quot;Auto Enhanced%26quot; FICO score. It gives slightly higher points if you have a good history of auto loans then a regular FICO score and a lower score if you have a poor history of auto loans.

In fact I just traded in/bought 2 cars and my %26quot;Auto Enhanced%26quot; FICO score was 33 points higher than my regular FICO score(I checked before going to the dealer) because I have 2 active paid on time car loans and 5 paid on time closed loans/leases showing on Equifax. My wife%26#039;s %26quot;Auto Enhanced%26quot; FICO score was 5 points lower than her regular FICO score because she only has the 2 active paid on time car loans and only one other paid %26amp; closed lease on her Equifax file.

Hope that clears it up for you.

Good Luck

When I receive these "prescreened" offers of credit, do they go in and check my credit rep

I just received a copy of my credit report and there are a **** load of credit inquiries. The kicker is, I havent applied for any credit for quite some time. I do receive credit card offers in the mail all the time, would that be it? I%26#039;m talking like 6-8 inquires already this year. Where the hell are they coming from and is my score suffering because of it? Thanks!!

When I receive these %26quot;prescreened%26quot; offers of credit, do they go in and check my credit report before hand?

The prescreened credit inquiries are what is called a %26quot;soft inquiry%26quot; or a sneak peak of your file.. They really just get a query of people who meet their minimum standards and send you an application out.. These are only visible by you and do not reflect a decrease in score..

However, any time you apply for any service (could be phone, cable, electricity, etc), your credit will be examined.. Normally, any application for utilities service (the ones mentioned above) results in no change to your score..

It is recommended however to opt out of these credit offers, to reduce possibility of identity theft.. .

When I receive these %26quot;prescreened%26quot; offers of credit, do they go in and check my credit report before hand?

You can opt out of these. Call 1-888-5OPTOUT.

When I receive these %26quot;prescreened%26quot; offers of credit, do they go in and check my credit report before hand?

They do not check your credit before hand, not in the respect that someone at, say, a car dealer would if you were buying a car.

What happens is they are trolling for potential customers, and are looking for things that might indicate you are a good candidate. These are done by automated programs that use a scoring system. They are not supposed to count against your credit rating, but can.

If you have enough items in your file to trigger their program, they send you an application. It%26#039;s only if you fill it out and send it in do they actually look at your file to see what all is in there.

You can request (in writing to Equifax and the other credit agencys) that they quit allowing your file to be scanned this way.

When I receive these %26quot;prescreened%26quot; offers of credit, do they go in and check my credit report before hand?

I wouldnt think that companys could check your credit without your social security number or some other unique form of ID.

There must be hundreds of people nationwide with your name, or anyones name for that matter.

You may be applying for credit without your realizing it. Every time you sign up for a different cell phone plan or cable tv/internet etc your credit is checked. All these places check your credit before they allow service.

It may also be someone applying for credit in your name (such as identity theft). Keep a VERY close watch on your credit in the near future.

When I receive these %26quot;prescreened%26quot; offers of credit, do they go in and check my credit report before hand?

The %26quot;prescreened%26quot; offers are soft hits to your credit %26amp; do not affect your score. The creditor submits a list of general requirements to the credit bureau %26amp; gets back a list of everyone that meets those standards. This does not guarantee that you will be approved for the offer when you apply. With your application they will do a more complete look at your record, which will affect your score. If they find something that disqualifies you, you will still be turned down.

When banks or car dealers check your credit...are they getting a credit report or just a number?

I%26#039;ve asked this question several times and never got the answer I wanted, so here it goes again....this is a very simple question with a very simple answer. I just want to know when you take out a car loan at a bank or dealership...what are they getting? Do they show you a credit report? Or do they give you a number of how good your credit is? Or do they give you the annual % of interest? It helps if you%26#039;ve worked at a dealer or bank. I don%26#039;t need a long detailed explanation just answer the question. Thank you.

When banks or car dealers check your credit...are they getting a credit report or just a number?

When you get your credit %26quot;run%26quot; the dealership gets a credit report as well as a numerical score. They actually will get an enhanced score that gives more weight to installment loans. This is used(but not exclusively) to determine your interest rate and down payment.

They will not give you a copy of this report or score to keep. Technically the only person that is allowed to see this is the financing manager. However, several companies will share this information with you and the salesman.

When banks or car dealers check your credit...are they getting a credit report or just a number?

The dealerships I bought cars from get an actual credit report and the FICO score. They are not supposed to show you either one, but since they are trying to sell you a vehicle, they will. Just ask to see it.

When banks or car dealers check your credit...are they getting a credit report or just a number?

They pull the complete CR with FICO score from one of three reporting agency%26#039;s. But they seem to only care about the score. If denied they have to tell you based on what factor of the CR. Then you are entitled a free CR. And they don%26#039;t have to actualy show you anything.

When banks or car dealers check your credit...are they getting a credit report or just a number?

They get whatever they are willing to pay for, usually the credit report and the FICO score.

They are under no obligation to show you the report, and a car dealership, for example, will make it seem worse than it is (to get a higher financing rate).

When banks or car dealers check your credit...are they getting a credit report or just a number?

Auto finance is what I do for a living and the previous posters are correct.

Auto dealers and lenders alike get whats called a %26quot;auto enhanced%26quot; credit report that gives special consideration to installment loans complete with pay history, score and a listing of all accounts both open and closed, revolving and installment.

This gives the dealer and the lenders a complete profile of how the customer pays their bills and gives the Finance Manager insight as to where to send the deal to get the best call.

When banks or car dealers check your credit...are they getting a credit report or just a number?

based upon your condition,I think you should find something useful here.http://carloan.featured-resources.info/b...

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

I want to purchase a house but I don%26#039;t want my credit being touched while looking for insurance for my vehicle. Will an insurance company touch my credit?

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

Unless you live in California, yes, an insurance credit check WILL happen, unless you%26#039;re under 21 (in which case you basically get the worst rates anyway).

The GOOD news is, the insurance scoring does NOT count as a %26quot;ding%26quot; on your credit rating.

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

Car Ins Companies check your credit and base the rates on it.

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

They will check your credit as part of the application process. This is just one of the pieces they use to determine what risks to accept and at what rate. Statistics show that folks with lower credit scores tend to have higher likelihood of filing claims. Therefore, folks with lower credit scores tend to pay higher premiums than those with very good credit scores.

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

While you are looking for a house, put a fraud watch on all of your credit reports. NOBODY can look into your credit without your express permission.

When dealing with the mortgage company, tell them that you put the watch on your credit to ensure that all the inforamtion is accurate

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

Your question is totally irrelvant. There is a misconception that if someone checks your credit rating, your credit rating DROPS.

That%26#039;s nonsence. Call a credit bureau like equifax and they will explain to you that your credit rating might drop if you have like pages and pages of hundreds of different inquiries.

I directly was speaking with equifax about my credit report, and asked them, hey what about these 5 inquires over the last year or two, are these killing me?? The lady kind of chuckled and said no sweetie, that is the case if you have like 500

inqueries...some people go to bank after bank after bank tryng to get loans, and then have like an entire book of credit inquiry hits....thats when your credit rating starts to go down.

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

Most of them will inquire about your credit. This is another flaw in the current underwriting systems that allow an auto company to check credit instead driving history.

Do auto insurance companies check your credit?

Many will, but usually they have to have your permission. Be sure to read the fine print if applying online or ask any agents BEFORE agreeing to the insurance quote.

I know that Progressive and Geico check credit. I have esurance and I don%26#039;t believe they check credit.

Try them at www.esurance.com.

Good Luck!

Student Loans. do they check your credit?

I need to get a student loan to go back to school but my credit is not very good, so can you still get them even if you have bad credit if you have a co signer? or is it alot harder or impossible to get one?

Student Loans. do they check your credit?

The federal Stafford loan does not require a credit check and is the most widely used type of student loan out there. It was originally created because students typically have not had a chance to develop a credit history.

Private student loans are not guaranteed by the government, so they typically require a credit check. Parent and grad PLUS loans also require a credit check, although they have relatively high approval rates.

Applying for federal financial aid (including the Stafford loan) starts by filling out your FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov). They will look at your financial situation and decide how much aid you are eligible for. Almost everyone qualifies for the Stafford loan. You also want to make sure you%26#039;re applying for every possible scholarship during this time.

Good luck!

Student Loans. do they check your credit?

With a co signer it should not be a problem.

Secondly, you need to deal with why you have bad credit. If you start paying what you owe or even make SOME arrangement, even if it is only 5 bucks a month, it will clean up your credit.

Some loans will be harder, some will not. It depends on the type of loan.

Student Loans. do they check your credit?

You can get one with bad credit. No one would ever go to grad school if you couldn%26#039;t. Also, you can get one even after declaring bankruptcy.

Student Loans. do they check your credit?

Student loans eligibility does not use a FICO score or review your credit report. The only thing that would prevent your obtaining a student loan is if:

You are convicted of a drug crime

Owe the IRS or any other government agency

Enrolling in school less than half time

However, any funds over the allotted yearly amount available in the Federal Student Loan Program, known as private loans, do use your credit rating.

Student Loans. do they check your credit?

Federal Student loans do not require a credit check for you to get them. But you can be defaulted on any previous loans. You also are not required to have a cosigner. Here is a good publication on loans and the best types to have.

Student Loans. do they check your credit?

Some student loans are possible without co-signer

there are private loans with very low interest.

I found interesting information about your answer, college loans with low interests, scholarships, college grants here.http://all-student-loan-consolidation.bl...

When car dealerships check your credit, what are they exactly looking at ?

Does credit matter more then the downpayment ? humm

When car dealerships check your credit, what are they exactly looking at ?

Dealers see the auto enhanced version of your credit report.

And yes credit matters a lot more then down payment.

Auto loans are based on the following factors;

1. LTV (loan to value).

2. Term requested.

3. Age of vehicle.

4. Miles on vehicle.

5. Down payment.

6. Time on job.

7. Time at residence.

8. Monthly income before taxes.

9. Credit score/profile.

10. Total debt to income ratio.

As long as the above factors are submitted to the lenders correctly, just about anyone can be approved for a auto loan.

I had one customer last year that had been in prison for 7-years and had no score, but he put 50% down and I got him approved.

When car dealerships check your credit, what are they exactly looking at ?

I always wondered what they always did the minute u gave them personal information to check your credit. My personal oppion is that you should be able to be right there with them making sure u aint being scamed into something

When car dealerships check your credit, what are they exactly looking at ?

Yes, down payment is nothing they look for:

Number of accounts with delinquency

Bal/cred limit too high on rev accts

Derog public record or cellection

Time since delinquency too recent.

If someone to check ur credit report like an employer, what results would they see?

is it a detailed one where they would see all the names of the past accounts u had, if so wouldn%26#039;t that be wrong for someone going through your personal stuff? or is it just a credit score where they would only see few numbers?

If someone to check ur credit report like an employer, what results would they see?

Depending on the credit service they use, they can see great detail. For a few bucks on the Internet they would only get top-line information about you. But from the top credit services, ex. TRW, they can find out just about as much as they want to pay for: Your assets; liabilities (who and how much), which credit cards you have and what the balances are, your savings, investments, etc. They can even find out if you%26#039;ve been convicted of a crime.

Scary stuff.

If someone to check ur credit report like an employer, what results would they see?

They see all. What they are looking for is deliquent accounts and court stuff. Like if you have a lien on you. They have every right to check it if you sign the paper. If you don%26#039;t you probably won%26#039;t get the job due to them thinking your hidding something.

If someone to check ur credit report like an employer, what results would they see?

They would see past employers, addresses, creditors and payment history.

Most employers use them to determine if you resume is correct and if you may be a liability based on your credit history.

It keeps people who may use fraudulent methods for monetary gain because they have monetary issues.

If someone to check ur credit report like an employer, what results would they see?

I do loans for a bank and get credit reports all the time. What they see is a complete history of your credit, going back a number of years. It will note a credit score, past addresses, SS number, birthdate (just month and year), judgements levied against you, bankruptcy, highest limit occured on any given credit card or debt and if and when it was paid off, late payments on any debt that was reported, and on it goes. There is a synopsis on the report that has a few lines stating how the score was attained, so if there are negatives in the report, the receiver doesn%26#039;t have to read every line item. However, in our case, we do read every line because we give our clients a chance to show us the debt has been taken care of rather than just judging them by a number.

If someone to check ur credit report like an employer, what results would they see?

hello she they are really checking to see how honest you are and they are checking to see if you are dependable andthey also checked to see how qualified you are for certain positions you have applied for

On line the verification process is a little more stricter but for obvious reasons so you may be asked where you worked or lived at a given date. As for it lowering your score I strontly doubt that.

How can I check my credit score?

5 steps to better credit

Correct blatant mistakes. Your credit score is only as good as what shows up in your credit report. Review your reports from all three credit bureaus for accuracy once a year as well as several months before applying for a loan. Changing a mistake on your report - such as a payment that is wrongly labeled as late -- can take 30 days to three months, sometimes longer.

Pay your bills on time. This is always a good practice, and it%26#039;s especially critical that you make prompt payments close to the time you need a loan. That%26#039;s because a late or missed payment in the last few months is likely to lower your score much more than an isolated late payment five years ago.

Reduce your credit card balances. A heavily weighted factor in your FICO score is how much money you owe on your credit cards relative to your total credit limit. Generally, it%26#039;s good to keep your balances at or below 25 percent of your credit card limit, said Jeanne Kelly, founder of The Kelly Group in Brookfield, Conn., which helps clients improve their credit scores.

--------------------------------------...

Pay off debt rather than moving it around. Since the ratio of your credit card balance to your credit limit is key, closing out an account and transferring the balance simply means you increase that ratio, which is likely to lower your score. In other words, say you owe a total of $2,000 on four credit cards, each of which has a $2,000 limit. Your total credit limit is $8,000, of which your total balance ($2,000) accounts for 25 percent. If you transfer all your balances to two cards and cancel the other two, your total credit limit is reduced to $4,000, and your $2,000 balance now accounts for 50 percent of that limit.

Don%26#039;t close unused credit card accounts near loan time. If you have several credit card accounts but are only using a few of them, you%26#039;ll only raise your balance-to-limit ratio if you close the unused ones. You also shouldn%26#039;t open new accounts when applying for a loan if possible. If you have a short credit history or very few accounts, opening a new credit line may lower your score since you don%26#039;t have a proven track record, said Jan Davis, an executive vice president at TransUnion. What%26#039;s more, a new account will lower the average age of your accounts, another factor in your FICO score.

Where can I get my score?

To find out specifically what you must do to raise your score, you can order your score report from all three national credit bureaus. In addition to your score, you%26#039;ll get your credit report, an indication of how your score ranks nationally and an explanation of how you can boost your standing.

There are two reasons to get your score from all three bureaus: First, each bureau may have slightly different information about you depending on which companies have reported to them on your accounts -- reporting is not mandatory and many companies will report more regularly to the bureau based in their region. Second, mortgage lenders often look at all three of the bureaus%26#039; FICO scores and take the middle score - not the average -- to assess your eligibility, said Michael Daversa of Atlantic National Mortgage in Westport, Conn. So it%26#039;s in your interest to know what that middle score is and make it the best it can be.

Currently, only Equifax offers consumers their actual FICO score. It can be purchased online for $12.95 at Equifax or myFICO.com. TransUnion and Experian sell their own score brands, but spokesmen for the two bureaus say their scores are comparable to FICO scores in that any advice they give you to improve your score will apply to the FICO score as well.

Like Equifax, the Experian score can only be purchased online for $12.95. The TransUnion score (included whenever you buy your TransUnion credit report, which will cost up to $9.00 depending where you live) may be purchased online, by mail, or, in some cases, by phone.

If you were denied credit, you%26#039;re entitled to a free credit report from the bureau supplying the information that was the basis for denial. Some states also entitle residents to a free credit report at least once a year. There is, however, no requirement that credit scores be offered free, although with TransUnion your score is automatically included in your report, whether you get it free or not.

How can I check my credit score?

Supposedly, buying it online from freecreditreport.com, experian.com, truecredit.com etc... will NOT hurt your credit scores. You aren%26#039;t applying for credit, so it%26#039;s supposed to be a review hit, not a hard pull.

They%26#039;re really only free if you cancel the subscription right away though.
