With a fraud alert or security freeze, your credit report/score can still be checked.

The fraud alert is something that is redone every 90 days. It requires any new creditor to call you before any new credit accounts can be opened.

A security freeze completely freezes your credit. Even you can%26#039;t open a new line of credit w/o unfreezing. That costs about $10 per credit bureau depending on where you live.

A landlord will still be able to check your report to see if you%26#039;re a good risk.

Well if you%26#039;re talking about the one that freezes your credit report then yeah, you pretty much can%26#039;t do anything. But, if it%26#039;s a program that just blocks fraud I don%26#039;t think you should have a problem.
