he does not want to provide a copy of my credit report. What to do?
Someone from a mortage company check my credit without me sign giving permission. On top of that, they do not?
Anyone with a %26quot;legitimate business need%26quot; can gain access to your credit history. If you feel they didn%26#039;t have a legitimate reason to access it then you can file a complaint - however it
sounds as if perhaps you filled out a mortgage application therefore they do not need any other permission from you.
Only an employer or prospective employer needs your written consent to obtain a report. An exception is Vermont where any user needs your oral or written consent. In practice, most potential creditors ask for your permission to review your report. Your permission is not required when inquiries are made in connection with a pre-approved credit offer.

If they used the credit report to DENY you credit, you can ask for a denial letter but I do not believe they are obligated to provide you the report UNLESS you paid to have it done. If credit was denied because of the report you have the right to request a FREE copy of your report from whatever agency they requested the report from. They are however required to send you a denial letter with the name of the agency.
Good luck!

You can contact any of the 3 credit bureaus and request that no one be able to check or look at your credit without your permission. It%26#039;s a feature they have where you can let them know. I don%26#039;t know all the specifics but there%26#039;s alot you can do with all that regarding your credit, just contact Equifax, Experian, or Transunion and they%26#039;ll let you know, or annualcreditreport.com to get a copy of your own and they%26#039;ll give you information too, or at www.ftc.gov/credit

By law he has to provide you a copy of your report if you ask based upon the Fair Credit Reporting Act. If you provide him with written notice that you want a copy. he has to provide it to you.

Go to the Credit agencies in your area. There are usually at least two of them, and you can find them on the %26#039;net.
Their web pages will have a form you can download, print out, and fill out. If you send a written request for your credit history and details, they must supply the information, and it will be free of charge.
You can then dispute any items listed that are inaccurate or unauthorized. The credit agency is obliged by law to make sure the information they have is accurate. If they persist in knowingly distributing false information the government can step in. You can also threaten them with lawsuits.
I have gone through the process and it works.
