I wrote checks from my business checking account into my personal credit union account. After the checks were deposited ($3000.00) into my personal credit union account. The bank where the business checking account is held, put a freeze on my account, and would not let me deposit cash to cover outstanding items.
Now the credit union is threatening to send a sheriff out to arrest me. Will/can they do that? Will the sherriff come out to arrest me or to take a statement?
I live in Washington state
Will a credit union have me arrested for check fraud?
If this was your business (since you say %26quot;my business checking account%26quot;) then NO!!!!! you have every right to deposit that money into your personal account. I work in mortgages and have clients who are self-employed who write checks from their business to their personal accounts. However, you have to be the owner of that business...if you are just a worker...you are in trouble dude. If this business is supervised or is not yours....you need to contact your superiors and let them know about this..THAT IS IF THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS.
If you know you robbed that money---then you will go to jail and no one here or in Yahoo Answers community can participate in this crime. But if that business account is YOURS AND YOURS ALONE....go and yell at the bank telling them that it is YOUR money and YOU can do whatever you want to do with it.

were you not supposed to do that? if you%26#039;re authorized to write those check, they will just put a standard hold on them until they clear.
if you%26#039;re not authorized to write those checks, you could be in trouble. don%26#039;t give the cops any statement, and don%26#039;t show them ID if you%26#039;re not driving. if they come to your house, talk to them outside, do NOT invite them in, and don%26#039;t show them your driver%26#039;s license, tell them it%26#039;s inside or something. don%26#039;t lie to them.
