My credit card company keeps sending me checks ranging between $8.00 and $20.00. If I cash the check I am automatically enrolled in free credit protection and I get a free 30 day trial period which I can cancel at any time, supposably.
Is this a scam? Do they make it impossible to cancel? What would happen if I were to cash the check and then cancel the plan the next day?
What am I missing here?
Anyone have any experience with these offers?
At lease once a week I get a check in the mail from my credit card company along with a free 30 day trial -?
Credit card companies don%26#039;t just give away money. There is ALWAYS a catch. It is not hard to cancel. Usually, though, once they reel you in, you are sunk. Credit protection is pretty good. I think my Credit card company is like $1 for every $100 that is owed. Their thing is, though, they make a LOT of money off of this. A lot of people owe thousands of dollars on credit cards. After payments, interest, and these additional things like credit protection, it%26#039;s worth it for them to give you a little twent dollar check.
Like I said, it%26#039;s not hard to cancel. However, they BEG you to keep it. You just have to be stern and tell them no.
If all else fails, just read the fine print for any additional catches.

No, it%26#039;s not a scam......BUT alot of people forget to cancel it within the 30 day period. If you read the small print you will see a monthly fee along with a one time charge which is pretty high.
So if you really want the money I would suggest you set an alarm in your cell phone perhaps to remind you within about 25 days so you can cancel it.
Good luck....
