OK...you get your credit report for free BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR YOUR CREDIT SCORE!!!

There is no where online you can get your credit SCORE for free! Report It

go straight to each website (3 major credit reporting agencies) and you get 2 free credit checks a year. Companies are - experian (spelling?) transunion - can%26#039;t remember the third offhand. Only go thru their website, avoid 3rd parties.

There are many sites that claim to give you your credit score for free, but they end up charging.

You are entitled to one absolutely free, no-strings-attached report per year from www.annualcreditreport.com

Also, if you have been turned down for credit from any kind of lending institution, they will send you a letter in which they tell you that you are entitled to a free report to understand why they turned you down.

As the other answer indicates, www.annualcreditreport.com is free and allows you to look at your credit report from Equifax, Experian and Transunion once per year.

But your question is about your credit score, not your credit report. You don%26#039;t get your credit score as part of the annualcreditreport.com report. There may be other ways of getting this for free, but the only way I know of is to get a credit card with Washington Mutual. Their web site, www.wamucards.com, gives free access to your credit score, updated monthly.

David G is right, the others are spamers.

If you write to www.equifax.com and others, they must give you a free report every year.

And you MUST ask for score.

Hi,

In short, there is no way to get your FICO score without charge.

You can get an absolutely free credit report from three credit reporting agencies each year (Experian, Transunion, and Equifax). But this simply gives you a summary of past and existing accounts.

However, FICO scores are calculated from a private company called Fair Issaac. You will need to pay for these. I believe they are $6.95 each.

It definately sucks that there is information about you out there that you have no control over with an inacurracy rate of 90%, that you need to pay to see, but that%26#039;s just the way it goes. However, I is totally worth you time and money to check them out and correct any mistakes.

Sorry- I hope that helps though,

Jon

The US Government has mandated that the three major credit bureaus offer the service to everyone in the United States once each year. The name of this site is www.annualcreditreport.com.

Since it is government mandated it requires a whole host of hoops to jump through. You do not actually get your credit scores, and it can take 7-10 days to receive the information. All in all not very consumer friendly. Guess that is what happens when a big company is required to do something they do not want to do.

Here is how I got my Credit Report and Score from all 3 bureaus for free.

I went to http://faqfaq.net/FreeCreditReport.html and signed up for their service.

It took like 3 minutes! They give you 7 Days for Free to try the service.

So I just canceled the next day after printing out everything I needed.

Easy and Free.
